About The Position

The Loan Servicing Specialist (FPD/Recourse) will be responsible for servicing auto loan accounts that default on the first contractual payment or default shortly after account origination (typically 3-6 months).

 

Essential Responsibilities:

 

  • Negotiate and facilitate communication with the customer to successfully obtain a commitment to pay.
  • Conduct investigative activities to determine the whereabouts of customers through database searches and system records (Skip-Tracing).
  • Act as intermediary between customers and dealers to research, substantiate, and resolve contract and vehicle concerns.
  • Initiate and review repossession efforts to recover collateral.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
  • Perform outbound calls and receive inbound calls through an auto-dialing system or manual telephone system.
  • Responsible for maintaining satisfactory work efforts on an assigned queue.
  • Meet and/or exceed daily goals and monthly goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
  • 1-2+ year(s) of experience in the collections field, preferably in the subprime consumer lending industry.
  • Effective communication, negotiation, and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply federal, state and local collections regulations.
  • Ability to interact with customers in a professional, tactful and sensitive manner.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Available to work a flexible work schedule and overtime as needed.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
