About The Position

Under the direction of the General Counsel, the In-House Counsel will handle in-house litigation and other projects as needed. 


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manage in-house litigation from inception to final resolution, including trial.
  • Draft demand letters, responses to demands, discovery, pleadings, and law & motion.
  • Make court appearances as needed.
  • Assist General Counsel with litigation strategy and resolution of claims; negotiate and draft settlement agreements.
  • Coordinate and advise outside counsel on pending litigation matters.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.


  • Juris Doctorate and admission to the California State Bar required.
  • 3+ years of law firm or in-house litigation experience required. Auto/Consumer Finance industry experience is preferred.
  • Strong legal writing and research skills using a variety of sources.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Ability to interact with others in a professional, tactful and sensitive manner.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong Word and Excel abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
