About The Position

The Desktop Support Specialist is a growth orientated position responsible for providing technical assistance and administration for users, computer hardware and software, VoIP phones, mobile devices, and various cloud applications.


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Answer questions and resolve daily performance issues with computer software/hardware and VoIP Phones.
  • Handle move/add/change requests and keep assets updated in the asset tracking system.
  • Setup up new user work stations, accounts, and access. 
  • Handle account terminations.
  • Maintain hardware, software, and peripheral equipment.
  • Keep tickets updated with daily communications, problems, remedial actions taken, and installation activities.
  • Read technical manuals, confer with users, and/or conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems and/or to provide technical assistance and support.
  • Handle incoming IT requests via ticketing system in accordance with SLAs.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • 1+ year of progressive desktop support experience utilizing a ticketing system.
  • Detail oriented and organized with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Customer service orientated with strong communication skills, strong problem solving skills, and trouble shooting skills.
  • Experience supporting Windows 7/10, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Experience working with file share servers and print servers, with various models of copiers/printers.
  • Basic understanding for LAN switching, network cabling, firewalls and VPN.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Experience with Server 2012/2016, MS SQL, VMware or Hyper-V, Backup Software, user VPN support, imaging and software deployment experience, CCNA, MCP, and ITIL certifications is a plus.
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience.
