    About The Position

    The Compliance and Training Manager will be responsible for ensuring companywide compliance with ethical and regulatory standards and the overall development and implementation of the Company’s training programs.

     

    Essential Responsibilities:

    • Ensure that existing and proposed business policies, procedures, forms, and processes comply with federal, state, and local laws/regulations.
    • Coordinate with state and federal regulators in conjunction with audits and investigations as needed.
    • Maintain documentation of compliance activities, such as complaints received or investigation outcomes and file compliance reports with the appropriate regulatory agencies.
    • Work in conjunction with legal and management teams to coordinate the development, implementation, and testing of system and process controls.
    • Monitor compliance processes and create an objective assessment of risk areas; recommend and facilitate the execution of the necessary corrective actions.
    • Conduct periodic internal reviews or audits to ensure that compliance procedures are followed.
    • Create, implement, and maintain training programs that ensure all employees are appropriately trained (and re-trained as required) in accordance with position requirements as well as all applicable federal, state, and local laws/regulations.
    • Provide direction to the department on how to effectively engage employees through training.
    • Participate in the recruitment, training, retention, and organization of all department staff in accordance with the company hiring process, personnel policies, and budget requirements.
    • Set compliance management controls for all vendors and perform due diligence to ensure vendors adhere to customer privacy policies, laws, and regulations involving consumer data.
    • Perform quarterly, semi-annual, or yearly vendor audits covering providers activities and identify concerns.
    • Create and maintain controls and limits involving access to consumer data in accordance with state and federal regulations.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Essential Requirements:

    • 5+ years of progressive compliance experience in the consumer finance industry, preferably in the sub-prime auto finance industry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
    • Ability to interact with others in a professional, tactful, and sensitive manner.
    • Strong knowledge and familiarity with federal and state consumer finance laws (including the FDCPA, FCRA, ECOA, TILA/ReZ, UDAAP, MLA, SCRA, GLBA, TCPA, etc.).
    • Experience in interacting with industry regulatory agencies (state AG’s, BCFP, FTC, OCCC, e)
    • Familiarity with compliance and training software (Compligo, eOSCAR, e).
    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and direct the work of others.
    • Detail oriented and organized with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team.
    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
