About The Position

The IT Security Manager will work to ensure that the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of company data and systems is protected against malicious actors. To accomplish this, the person in this role will be expected to oversee the selection, implementation, and management of security policies, protocols, and technologies.


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Direct all operational Information Security efforts, including patch and vulnerability management, cryptography, identity and access management, incident response, and general IT Control developments.
  • Develop security architecture, aligning technologies to support security controls and strategies.
  • Responsible for leading the day-to-day IT Security operational activities.
  • Manage security team members and all other information security personnel.
  • Partners with the IT Leadership and other leaders to continuously improve IT Security Strategy and manages alignment with IT and business goals.
  • Provide information security awareness training to organization personnel.
  • Communicate information security goals and innovative programs effectively with other department managers within the organization.
  • Creates, monitors and continuously improves metrics related to IT Security.
  • Manage and configure physical security, disaster recovery and data backup systems.
  • Develops and monitors security procedures, practices and policies within all system environments.
  • Implement and oversee technological upgrades, improvements and major changes to the information security environment.
  • Oversee information security audits, whether by performed by organization or third-party personnel.
  • Conducts vulnerability analysis and threat assessment.
  • Assess current technology architecture for vulnerabilities, weaknesses and for possible upgrades or improvement.
  • Performing and reviewing vulnerability evaluations of software and hardware such as workstations, servers and network devices .
  • Other duties as assigned.

Essential Requirements:

  • 5+ years of progressive supervisory experience in the IT field, preferably in the consumer finance industry
  • Excellent understanding of broad spectrum of technologies to include operations system, active directory, DNS, Messaging
  • Strong understanding of all significant components of an overall IT security and architecture (infrastructure, applications, data management, etc.) including knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, VLANS, Trunking) and routing architecture.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement IT policies and procedures based on regulatory adherence and industry best practices, including practices around safekeeping Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
  • Effectively communicate complex IT problems and solutions in simple terms.
  • Ability to interact with others in a professional, tactful, and sensitive manner.
  • Available to work a flexible work schedule and some Saturdays including potential travel.
  • Strong leadership skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, planning and organizing, decision making and delegation with the ability to manage and direct the work of others.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent work experience.
  • CISSP or CISM certification is a plus.
