As we expand into the commercial vehicle financing space, we’re seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Credit Manager – Commercial Vehicles (Class 1 through Class 3) to help lead and shape this initiative.

Position Summary

The Credit Manager – Commercial Vehicles (Class 1 through Class 3) will oversee the credit evaluation process for our commercial vehicle loan portfolio, specifically targeting Class1 and up to Class 3 vehicles. This individual will underwrite complex credit applications and ensure that credit decisions align with company policies and risk appetite. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in commercial auto or equipment lending and a keen ability to balance risk and growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and approve credit applications for commercial vehicles (Class 1 through Class 3), ensuring adherence to credit policies and risk appetite.
• Collaborate with sales and dealer relationship teams to structure deals that meet client needs while maintaining portfolio quality.
• Monitor and adjust credit policy as needed based on performance data, economic trends, and industry changes.
• Review commercial borrower financials, business structures, and supporting documentation to assess creditworthiness.
• Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency in the underwriting process.
• Ensure compliance with all internal policies and external regulations (e.g., ECOA, FCRA).
• Provide regular reporting on credit quality, trends, and team performance to senior leadership.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in commercial credit, ideally within auto finance, equipment leasing, or commercial lending.
• Strong understanding of underwriting principles related to small business or commercial vehicle loans.
• Familiarity with analyzing financial statements, business tax returns, and cash flow.
• Strong attention to detail, with a high level of integrity and decision-making ability.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
