About The Position

The Collateral Recovery Specialist (Servicing - Impounds) will be responsible for servicing auto loan accounts and documenting all collection activities utilizing loan servicing software.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

 

  • Respond to impound and lien sale notifications.
  • Negotiate fees due with tow yards and repair/mechanic shops.
  • Prepare documents required to recover collateral.
  • Research mechanic shop licenses to validate lien sale/repair fee demands
  • Arrange vehicle inspections to determine collateral value and qualify recovery efforts.
  • Coordinate with external departments to determine preferred course of action, including filing a lawsuit, posting bond, collateral recovery, etc.
  • Assign vehicles for repossession.
  • Follow and ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
  • Accurately and professionally document account information and collection activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 

Essential Requirements:

 

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
  • 3+ year(s) of experience in the collections field, preferably in the subprime consumer lending industry.
  • Effective communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply federal, state, and local collections regulations.
  • Ability to interact with customers in a professional, tactful, and sensitive manner.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Available to work a flexible work schedule and overtime as needed.
  • High School Diploma or GED.

 

Salary: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour + Bonus
